Nightmare Moon in metal

Description

So for my sculpture final the assignment was to make a "monumental miniature" or rather a tiny version of a monument that exists or that is just a conceptual monument. I decided to create a rearing nightmare moon as a monument to bronies and the breaking of gendered societal boundaries. I really love the brony phenomenon, and mlp culture and the fandom. There are so many talented artists in every possible medium, from sound to animation, painting and sculpture. The content out there is absolutely astonishing, and I never tire of seeing what everyone is creating.

My nightmare moon is made of aluminum sheet tightly hand-twisted (for real, most of the sculpture was "strong armed") and braised together with brass rod. I scorched her all over with my oxy acetylene torch (Hot!). She stands on an iron base poured from a scratch mold I made at Franconia Sculpture Garden for their last Iron pour of this year (I also sandblasted the base to even out the texture). I let her rust naturally after squelching, so she has some beautiful red detail as well.

I don't know if anyone would be interested in owning her, she's quite pokey (definitely not for kids!) and weighs a few pounds, but I may put her up for sale to find a loving brony (she IS a monument to bronydom after all, even if she is just a miniature).

... I have no idea what category to put her in

I have got to say she turned out beautiful, but I think what I like more is your concept of what she stands for. You hit the nail on the head ( so to say ) about what brony's stand for. I have not met a brony yet that was not friendly and not judgmental like most people are. I hope if you do sell it, whoever buys her gets the idea of what she stands for.
